Job Description

Certified Medical Assistant for busy cardiology office. Cardiology experience preferred. Should have experience working in an EMR and be able to multitask. Fax resume to 732-455-3191.

Must be able to pass a drug test & background check. Shifts are Monday-Friday 9:00am am to 5:00 pm. Must have MA certification, a professional appearance, upbeat attitude, a pleasant disposition, and flexible schedule. Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to): Administrative Tasks Use computer applications Answering telephones Greeting patients Updating and filing patient medical records Coding and filling out insurance forms Scheduling appointments Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): Taking medical histories Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examination Assisting the physician during exams Instructing patients about medication and special diets Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician Authorizing prescription refills as directed Taking electrocardiograms Additionally, knowledge in Cardiology is a MAJOR plus. At least a working knowledge of EMR (preferably Allscripts PM and Pro EHR) and Microsoft programs is required.
