The Medical Assistant role is key in our practice as they are responsible for aiding our providers with daily patient care. Your energy, attention to detail, and compassionate approach will help ensure a positive experience for every patient you see. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in diverse clinical settings while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Qualifications/ Requirements:
Previous medical office or healthcare experience (pain management or orthopedic preferred) Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Excellent communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Team player with a positive attitude Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems preferred Must be able to work flexible hours (Monday - Friday) & travel to other locations Must have a reliable vehicle Must be professional!
Responsibilities:
Reviewing patient charts and alerts, ensuring relevant lab work, Op Reports, test results, etc., are available prior to the physician seeing the patient. Accompanying patients to and from exam rooms while maintaining patient flow Obtaining information such as reason for visit, medical history, social history, family history, medications, allergies, vital signs, etc. and documenting into the EMR system Scheduling procedures, reviewing instructions as well as educational materials with patients, and ensuring that all patient questions are addressed by the medical assistant or provider Completing patient paperwork/forms Returning patient-related calls as needed Entering orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system and/or preparing prescription refill requests, imaging scripts, etc., for the approval of the ordering provider.
