Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our busy pediatric practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families in a fast-paced clinical setting and will provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians during patient visits. Obtain and document patient vitals (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, etc.). Record patient history, chief complaints, and allergies in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Administer vaccines, medications, and perform point-of-care tests (e.g., rapid strep, flu, RSV, urine tests) following practice protocols. Conduct vision and hearing screenings as appropriate. Maintain accurate immunization records and assist with vaccine inventory management. Perform routine specimen collection (throat swabs, urine, etc.) and ensure proper labeling and handling. Provide age-appropriate patient education and anticipatory guidance under physician direction. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and restocked between patients.
Administrative Duties:
Greet patients and families, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment. Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and handle prior authorizations as needed. Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in coordination with clinical staff. Assist with EHR documentation and ensure medical records are up-to-date. Verify insurance information and assist with patient billing questions when necessary.
Qualifications:
Certification:
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited program (AAMA, NHA, or equivalent).
Experience:
Prior experience in pediatrics preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families. Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR). Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Other Requirements:
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs.
