AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. Our vision is to live in a world that is just and without homelessness. We believe that homelessness is an issue that can be solved through access to quality health care, adequate and affordable housing, and a living wage. Do you have a passion for client care? We may be the right fit for you! We are currently looking for an upbeat medical assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate would be a team player and have previous experience in an underserved population. Compassion for and an understanding of the wide variety of issues for those experiencing homelessness is a must. Our MA team works in rotating schedules doing Outreach work in the field, in the Clinic, and on designated Administrative shifts. We work from a harm reduction model and believe in meeting people where they are at. We view client care holistically and connect clients to various resources within our organization and without. We comply with all OSHA and CDC guidelines regarding PPE and have various procedures in place to safeguard employees. This is a part-time, non-exempt position. We are currently hiring for two AHCH locations: We have two part-time(20 hrs./weekly) MA position available in the AHCH clinic, which is located at 1217 1st St NW. Hours align with the regular campus schedule, 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday. The only exception to these hours is a required once a month Friday night medical and harm reduction team outreach from 2-6pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Room patients, take basic medical history and vital signs, Assist providers in various procedures Perform wound care, injections/immunization, and lab procedures- blood draws, specimen preparation and handling Prepare and stock examination rooms Participate in medical outreaches in the Bernalillo County service area
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to thrive in a complex healthcare setting Working knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and anatomy Experience documenting services in an electronic health record Completion of a Medical Assistant program Experience as a
Medical Assistant Preferred Qualifications:
