This position includes duties as a Customer Access Representative and a Medical Assistant II. As a Customer Access Representative, it provides receptionist duties for the center and performs a variety of clerical duties including patient appointments and registration, management of patient flow, billing, and payment collections. As a Medical Assistant II, it assists the professional and para-professional staff in rendering health care. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

CUSTOMER

ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Six months experience in healthcare setting OR one year administrative and/or customer service background. Computer experience required; ability to work with Windows-based programs strongly preferred. Experience or training in customer service industry preferred. Experience in medical billing preferred.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT II

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program; OR successful completion of the internal PMS Medical Assistant II training and assessment program. Thorough knowledge of nursing aide duties preferred. Must be deemed competent in phlebotomy at time of hire. Ability to speak Spanish or Navajo desired.

ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

If required to assist with state Centennial Care / Medicaid enrollment and/or NM Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX) enrollment, must successfully complete required state and federal health insurance enrollment assistance training programs and obtain related certifications before providing enrollment services and maintain current while required to provide these services.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT II

Have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire date. Certification must meet the requirements listed in the document "

BLS / CPR / ACLS

& First Aid Training Resources" posted on Staurolite. It is your responsibility to keep your certification current at all times.

If assigned to the Checkerboard Area Health System, this position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment Criminal Records Check. This position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment: According to PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, "Healthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements," this position must comply with required testing and immunizations. Testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be available at the employee's PMS health center. Influenza vaccines will be required according to dates set by the CDC and

NMDOH. TB

CUSTOMER ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

If required to assist with NM Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX) enrollment, this position requires successful completion of a Criminal Records Check conducted by the NM Insurance Exchange as a part of their assistor's application process, prior to providing these services.

CONDITIONAL DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

May be required to use personal transportation to carry out job duties. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must provide a current motor vehicle record. Must provide current personal owner liability automobile insurance and must maintain the insurance coverage throughout the course of employment in this position. Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and maintain a satisfactory driving record that is within the limitations of PMS Human Resources Policy II.D.3, Automobile Usage, and applicable state and federal laws. Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, II.D.3, Drug Free Workplace, III.H and applicable state and federal laws. May be required to complete transportation related trainings. $100 EMPLOYEE
