Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Collect patient histories, perform vital signs measurement, and document clinical information accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Support clinical staff with procedures such as medication administration, X-ray preparation, or basic life support when necessary. Assist with intake procedures including insurance verification, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and updating patient records with accurate demographic and medical data. Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare facilities. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards. Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient files, and supporting billing or documentation tasks related to inpatient or outpatient care. Qualifications Proven experience in a clinical setting such as dermatology, internal medicine, or hospital medicine; familiarity with hospital experience or Level I/II trauma centers is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration techniques. Hands-on experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical administrative support functions. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or Geriatrics are advantageous. Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs collection, intake procedures, and assisting with X-ray or OR procedures if needed. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including inpatient units like PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics. Familiarity with outpatient clinics and experience working within hospital environments such as Level II trauma centers or emergency departments enhances your candidacy. Demonstrated knowledge of medical-surgical practices and the ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced settings like urgent care or Level I trauma centers.
