Medical Assistant CVH Primary Care @Topaz Ranch - Per Diem•
IMPORTANT NOTE
In lieu of benefits due to "per diem" status, 15% will be added to the hourly rate. Per diem employees are offered work on an "as-needed" basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide comfortable, safe and professional care for the clinic patient, infant through geriatric. Maintain an efficient flow of patients for the clinician. Working knowledge of all equipment and all required QA checks. Stocks supplies and orders appropriately. Schedules patients for testing procedures and ensures all test results and reports are scanned in the patient chart prior to the appointment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Certification:
Must hold current certification as a Medical Assistant by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or any certifications agency recognized by the medical board of the issuing state (or obtain within 90 days of hire date).
Certification Required:
Current BLS Certification Office Laboratory Assistant license (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
Minimum Work Experience Required:
Reading, writing, excellent spelling, organizing, and filing skills.

Patient centered care.

Customer service skills.

Computer and word processing skills.
Minimum Work Experience Preferred:
Professional phone etiquette, Bi-Lingual preferred.

Previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Patient CareWorks in conjunction with the entire clinic staff to provide a patient centered care team with effective communication being the common denominator.

Assists the physicians and providers by collecting patient vital signs and other pertinent data.

Escorts the patients to exam rooms, takes weight and vital signs and assists in determining medical problem.

Obtains brief medical history to include age, date of birth, chief complaint, current medications with dosage and allergies.

Assists physicians/providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Sterilization and set up of instruments.

Prepares examination rooms and instruments.

Stocks supplies.

Effectively provides explanations and educates patients families regarding treatments and interventions.

Schedules patients for testing procedures. Obtains test results and ensures that lab reports, x-rays and other Information is in the medical record prior to the appointment and scanned in the medical record according to office guidelines.

Authorizes and faxes to pharmacy requests for refills per provider instruction.

Ensures routine medical office duties are completed as assigned, to include, emptying waste baskets, cleaning and disinfecting exam room counters and exam tables, ordering medical supplies, equipment controls - daily, weekly, and monthly.

Ensures that all aspects of patient care and observations are documented, accurately and timely.

CommunicationAnswers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.

Returns Phone calls in a timely manner.

Relays messages to appropriate staff members through In Basket of EMR.Efficient with working in EMR and the in Basket within
