Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers and ensure exceptional patient care across various medical settings. Your proactive approach will help streamline clinical operations, enhance patient experiences, and maintain efficient workflow within outpatient, inpatient, and emergency environments. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to uphold strict infection control standards. Support procedures by preparing necessary equipment, assisting during minor surgeries or treatments, and administering medications under supervision. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by updating patient information, documenting visits, and coding diagnoses with ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow in outpatient clinics or hospital units. Requirements Prior experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic life support (BLS) certification is essential. Experience with EHR systems, ICD coding, medication administration, and vital sign measurement is required. Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers enhances your candidacy. Ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in the operating room (OR) is a plus. Strong patient care skills with a focus on delivering compassionate service across outpatient and inpatient settings including geriatrics and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or medical-surgical units.
