Job Description

Bassett Medical Center is a regional healthcare hub serving Central New York. Our high-volume laboratory emphasizes collaboration, quality, and operational efficiency. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist to work primarily in the core laboratory on evening shift, supporting hematology, urinalysis, and chemistry bench work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key responsibilities Perform routine testing and bench procedures in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain core laboratory instrumentation. Manage and prioritize high-volume workflow independently while collaborating with team members as needed. Participate in training and competency validation; adhere to quality and safety standards. Limited exposure to rapid molecular testing may be included. Typical instrumentation
Chemistry:
Beckman DXC700AU, Beckman DXI, Abbott Architect (DXA coming online)
Urinalysis:
DXU 840, AX 4030
Hematology:
Sysmex XN Coagulation:
ACL TOPS
Additional:
Abbott ID NOW (rapid molecular testing, possible training inclusion) Shift, workload, and environment Evening shift with independent bench responsibility most of the shift. Team of ~7 evening technologists; collaborative culture with supportive peers. Weekends and holidays required; no on-call obligations.
High-volume workload:
chemistry up to or exceeding 1,000 samples/day (M-F), hematology and urinalysis ~500 samples/day. Lower volumes on weekends.
