Job Description
Position Summary:
The Medical Administrative Assistant will play an integral role in the day-to-day support of the Nursing department to ensure the needs of the individuals we support are met. He or she will report to the Director of Nursing.Position Duties:
- Handling incoming and outgoing calls, accurately documenting messages
- Organizing and uploading files and consultations into EMR
- Scheduling medical appointments for people supported
- Effectively communicating relevant information to all departments and families and redirecting inquiries as needed, including but not limited to sending out weekly appointment schedule
- Obtaining and managing pharmacy refills and communicating relevant information
- Typing correspondence, reports, memos, and manuals with attention to detail and efficiency
- Interacting professionally with outside agencies, vendors, and other facilities
- Maintaining confidentiality of nursing department data and personnel information
- Supporting departmental tasks and payroll duties as required
- Report to the Director of Nursing
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Familiarity with EMR systems and scheduling transportation for patients
Pay:
$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per weekBenefits:
