Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with at least 2 years of clinical and administrative experience to join our urgent care team. This role blends hands‑on patient care with essential front desk management and community outreach, helping us deliver high‑quality services and expand our impact. Key Responsibilities Clinical Support Perform vital signs, patient intake, and EHR documentation. Conduct phlebotomy, swab collection, blood draws, and specimen labeling. Assist with point‑of‑care testing (COVID, flu, strep, urinalysis). Support minor procedures (suturing, wound care, splinting). Administer injections, vaccines, and medications per protocol. Front Desk Management Greet and register patients (CureMD EHR), manage scheduling, and handle phone calls. Oversee insurance verification and billing coordination along with copay collection. Ensure smooth patient flow and minimize wait times. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid documentation. Track inventory of medical and office supplies, submit requests for replenishment, and ensure availability of essential items (swabs, phlebotomy kits, PPE, vaccines, EHR consumables). Report faulty equipment, coordinate minor repairs, and escalate facility issues to management. Outreach & Community Engagement Make outreach calls to schools, businesses, and community partners to promote urgent care services and wellness programs. Support Medicare/Medicaid awareness drives and chronic disease workshops. Qualifications Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential. Minimum 2 years of experience in urgent care / primary care settings. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Familiarity with EHR systems. Compassionate, culturally sensitive, and patient‑focused. Bilingual highly valued. $18.00 - $21.00 per hour Application Question(s): What are your hourly wage requirements? Do you have at least 2 years of experience in clinical and administrative settings? Do you have hands‑on experience performing phlebotomy, swab collection, and specimen labeling in a clinical setting? Have you managed patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification? Are you familiar with CureMD or other electronic health record (EHR) systems, and can you document patient encounters accurately? Are you comfortable making outreach calls to schools, businesses, or community partners to promote urgent care services? Do you speak any languages in addition to English, and are you comfortable assisting patients with limited English proficiency? Do you currently hold an active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential? How many hours per week and which days can you commit to work? Our urgent care shifts run 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on weekends.
