Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced medical front desk assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your expertise in medical office procedures, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and medical billing will ensure smooth clinic operations. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Verify insurance coverage through insurance verification processes and update patient records accordingly Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently, including intake documentation review Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately Perform billing and collection activities, including medical collection efforts and processing payments Maintain accurate and organized medical records in EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with coding procedures using CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes for accurate documentation and billing purposes Support office management tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless patient flow within the clinic Skills Proven experience in a medical front desk or administrative support role within a healthcare setting, preferably dental or hospital environments Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing processes, and insurance verification procedures Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills for efficient documentation review and data entry Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Ability to operate multi-line phone systems confidently while maintaining professionalism at all times Knowledge of dental terminology and dental office procedures is a plus for dental clinic experience Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by delivering top-tier administrative support in a vibrant healthcare environment!
