Job Title:
Medical AssistantJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. You will provide essential patient care assistance to support the doctor's daily activities, such as greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. Additionally, you will assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes, and relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person. Responsibilities + Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns. + Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review. + Take complete and accurate messages, routing them to the appropriate area for direction, order, and referral entry. + Set up cases in the EMR system and perform basic registration and updating of demographics. + Accurately document medical information in patient records. + Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review. + Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner. + Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as directed by physician/nurse practitioner. + Maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies. + Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care. Essential Skills + 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience + Proficiency in using electronic health records + Strong communication skills + Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) + Experience with EMR systems + Knowledge in phlebotomy Work Environment This position is in a busy urgent care setting with a patient load of 50-100 patients a day. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. The role offers opportunities for growth within the company and potential for overtime in different specialties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
