Position:
Medical Assistant As a Medical Assistant, you will be a key support to physicians and nurse practitioners by ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent patient experiences, and accurate clinical documentation. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, patient‑focused, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Accurately document vital signs and patient information Prepare patients and examination rooms for exams and procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment Assist physicians with procedures and document medical history and case notes Relay physician instructions to patients and authorized individuals Collect and document patient information in person and over the phone Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record (EMR) Take complete, accurate messages and route them to the appropriate department Enter orders and referrals and set up cases in the EMR system Track, route, and communicate test results as directed by providers Support patient care activities, including scheduling tests and reinforcing patient education Perform triage as directed by a physician or nurse practitioner Maintain inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies Use electronic health records consistently for documentation and communication What We're Looking For 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant Strong proficiency with electronic health records Ability to accurately document vital signs and clinical information Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and providers Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain professionalism in a high‑volume environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in a busy urgent care or high‑volume clinical setting Ability to manage 50-100 patients per day Flexibility to work overtime and support multiple specialties Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred Phlebotomy skills are a plus Work Environment & Growth Opportunities Fast‑paced urgent care setting
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to work until 6:00 PM as needed High patient volume with diverse clinical exposure Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization Potential for overtime Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
