  • Part-time Job Summary A busy Podiatry office, in business 27 years, with locations in Miller Place and Rockville Centre, NY is looking for a Part Time Medical Receptionist/ Medical Assistant for the Miller Place office.
Front office and back office experience is a strong plus, but willing to train the right candidate. Job responsibilities will include, among others, answering telephone calls, making appointments, Obtaining X-rays (if qualified), cleaning and preparing exam rooms. Some computer experience is needed as the office uses an advanced Electronic Medical Records system. Candidate MUST be able to work on Tuesday Mornings and Thursday afternoons. Qualified candidates can email their CV Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Obtain and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates Assist healthcare providers with clinical duties and procedures Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized Manage patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and documenting symptoms accurately Support medical documentation through ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, handle patient inquiries, and coordinate follow-up visits efficiently Requirements Proven experience in a clinical setting such as Podiatry office is a plus Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and scheduling purposes Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in X-ray or emergency medicine are a plus Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and compassionately Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and ICD coding Join our dedicated healthcare team where your skills make a real difference!
