MyDoc Care, a new healthcare practice in Plainview, Long Island, is seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing team. Services at MyDoc Care Urgent Care | Primary Care | Diagnostics | Laboratory | Cardiology As a Medical Assistant , you will play an important role in supporting our providers and ensuring smooth day-to-day patient care. Responsibilities may include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting patient information, assisting providers during examinations and procedures, performing EKGs and other clinical tasks, coordinating laboratory and diagnostic testing, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. We are looking for 4 Medical Assistants for Full-Time positions . $20-22/hour , based on experience and qualifications
Schedule:
Flexible / Per Diem / Regular coverage available Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and other clinical providers with patient care
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Obtain and document patient medical histories
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment
- Assist with physical examinations and minor procedures
- Perform EKGs and other clinical procedures within scope
- Perform point-of-care testing as authorized
- Assist with specimen collection and processing
- Administer medications or injections when appropriately trained and authorized
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR
- Assist with patient flow and coordination between clinical and diagnostic services
- Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients
- Maintain infection-control and safety standards
- Follow HIPAA and MyDoc Care policies
- Provide professional and compassionate patient service Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Previous MA experience in urgent care, primary care or physician-office setting preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- EMR experience preferred
- Knowledge of vital signs, EKGs and specimen collection
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Professional, dependable and patient-focused
