Job Description
Overview Podiatry practice in Poughkeepsie seeking a medical assistant.
CLINICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare Examination Room- set up the examination room each morning ensuring each room is fully stocked with supplies
- performs cold sterilization between patients and using OSHA approved products to clean all instruments and exam chair Performs pre-treatment triage and foot exams
- greets and escorting patient to exam room
- performs medical histories triage, reviewing medications and performing/ recording vitals including Height, Weight, Fasting Blood Sugar level, Hemoglobin A1c
- prepares patients for physician examination, procedures, and/or treatment
- assists patients with taking off shoes and socks and donning them at the conclusion of their examination
- takes photographs of patient complaints that are visual in nature Maintains accuracy of Electronic Medical Records and Assists in SOAP Documentation
- records medical histories/reviewing medications and performing/ recording vitals
- imports pertinent information from AI scribe into office visit encounter note
- types all applicable information into the Pt's Electronic medical records and scribes information into the patients office note on behalf of the physician including the subjective as voiced from the patient to the medical assistant and physician, objective and assessment as diagnosed and described by the physician, and plan of treatment.
- ensures this information is readily available on the routing slips for administrative and billing staff Assists the physician during the examination.
- assist in collecting laboratory specimens
- takes photographs as necessary
- assist in casting for patients for custom orthotics (getting the casting material out and filling out Rx)
- retrieves materials as needed
- retrieves pertinent over the counter items available
- records all necessary information in Electronic Medical Record during the examination
- records diagnosis, treatment, authorizations needed and Plan on patient routing slips Assists the Physician Radiology Studies
- informs the Physician about the probability of a patient needing to have x-rays performed before he/she enters the treatment room
- discusses the possibility of pregnancy in female patients who are of age to bear children prior to x-rays being performed
- assists Physician in taking digital x-rays
- inputs patient demographic information into the digital x-ray computer
Experience and Requirements:
Graduation from high school or equivalency diploma One year full-time experience working in a medical office Proficient in Microsoft word Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience working with NextGen EHR is preferred Experience working with Doximity or similar medical AI software is preferred- Salary is based on experience
Pay:
$17.75- $24.
