Job Overview myEye is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to serve as part-time Telehealth Facilitator to support tele-eye screening operations at a high-volume primary care clinic in Ronkonkoma. This role involves performing specialized eye imaging procedures, supporting patient care, and assisting with administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will possess reliability, strong patient interaction skills, familiarity with EHR systems, and experience in outpatient settings such as primary care, family medicine and endocrinology. The candidate should be comfortable with medical devices and eye imaging, cloud platforms, and high-volume repetitive efficient workflows. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative telemedicine initiatives while working with patients and primary care clinicians, ensuring high-quality patient service and accurate imaging documentation. Job attributes Predictable clinic days No nights, no weekends Technology-focused role Independent, trusted position Not an optometry/ophthalmology office environment Responsibilities Conduct tele-eye screening imaging procedures with precision and adherence to clinical protocols. Assist patients with intake processes, including recording patient demographics, collecting medical histories, and explaining procedures. Support patient care by ensuring comfort, addressing questions, and providing clear instructions during imaging sessions. Operate and troubleshoot ophthalmic imaging equipment, maintaining calibration and quality standards. Document patient information accurately within myEye's cloud platform, including ICD-10 coding and anatomy-specific data. Collaborate with primary care providers to ensure timely transmission of tele-eye screening results for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Support administrative functions such as scheduling coordination across different sites, managing patient flow, ensuring high-volume imaging, and assisting with patient care coordination. Participate in ongoing training related to patient care, and using and maintaining the imaging station, cloud platform, and EHRs. Requirements Medical Assistant certification or equivalent experience. Prior experience in outpatient clinical settings. Familiarity with EHR systems and healthcare cloud platforms. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and procedures within ophthalmic telemedicine workflows. This role is integral to delivering high-quality tele-eye screening services while supporting comprehensive patient care. Strong patient service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to diverse patients. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
