Job Responsibilities:
Assists Health Careers Instructors with demonstrations in clinical lab. Assists Health Careers Instructors in supervising students assigned to clinical experience in hospitals or nursing homes. Assists Health Careers Instructors in maintaining records on student attendance and performance in the clinical area. Assists in planning with members of the Health Careers faculty for correlation of materials taught in nursing theory with work experience to be provided. Evaluates student performance in all procedures using established guidelines and directives from the instructor. In consultation with the instructor, provides input regarding student attitudes, behaviors, and clinical competencies of each student assigned for the rotation. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by Coordinator for Health Careers or Health Careers Instructors (e.g. care plans, worksheets, med cards, etc.). Completes clinical evaluation form assigned to students. Job Qualifications Must hold a valid New York State Registered Nursing License with at least 2 years experience in a long-term facility or elderly care.
