We are professional, inclusive, collaborative and our goal is to Formé Medical Center and Urgent Care is an internal medicine, primary care, and urgent care practice in White Plains, New York. The ideal candidates are skilled in assertive and clear communication with the patients in different scenarios, and are able to accurately complete any additional tasks assigned to them.
Responsibilities:
•A Certified Medical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and office duties under the physician/provider/NP direct supervision Medical Assistants must adhere to the NYS Medical Assistant scope of practice Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; obtaining patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting providers/nurses with various procedures; charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls Fulfills responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient records and documents; scheduling surgical procedures and tests; obtaining pre-certification for health care services; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing and updating charts to ensure that information is complete Checks and completes required logs and equipment including refrigerator logs, compliance logs, sample medications, AED, among others Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned by department protocols including; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, maintaining infection control protocols; keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies and restocking exam/procedure rooms Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required Successful completion of a program in Medical Assisting at an accredited school, required At least one year of clinical experience in a medical office / clinic or hospital setting, or graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
BLS, CPR
Certifications Must be able to manage multiple cross-functional communications and process in a timely manner Must have a high degree of professionalism in all communications Excellent communication skills with ability to work individually and as part of a team Understanding that the patient is our highest priority Contact with patients and/or human research subjects Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
