Job Description
Medical Assistant - OB/GYN Office Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our busy OB/GYN practice. The Medical Assistant will support health care providers in providing high-quality care to women throughout all stages of life, including gynecologic and obstetric care. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position will rotate between our Englewood and Kettering offices, and include occasional Medical Office Reception shifts. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Assist providers with gynecological exams, prenatal visits, procedures, and patient education Specimen collection, injections, and basic laboratory testing as directed Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient follow-up Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and sterilization procedures Answer patient phone calls and respond to messages professionally and compassionately Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, prenatal care, and preventive health measures under direction of physicians and nurse practitioners. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards Qualifications Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Prior OB/GYN or women's health experience strongly preferred Experience with EMR systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Current CPR certification preferred Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, 8a - 430p Occasional evening hours Benefits Competitive pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Retirement plan options
