Job Description

Toledo Clinic's Advanced Pain Management Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (Credentialed) to perform front desk MA duties along with some clinical duties in a fast paced office. The hours are Mon-Thurs (7:30-4:00) and Fri (7:30-1:00). This position requires the RMA, CMA or CCMA credential or the qualifications to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex:
RMA/CMA/CCMA
). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After on e year of service, qualified Medical Assistants/Certified Patient Care Techs will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary:
Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office and as needed performs clinical duties Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
Answering phones - courteously and professionally. Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc. Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record. Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications. Updating insurance information. Escorting patients to exam rooms. Preparing and maintaining exam rooms. Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to): Assisting physician with minor procedures. Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, histories, etc.). Answering patient questions at the request of the physician. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame. Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed. Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles. Medical Assisting Credential (ie: RMA or CMA) Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
Education:
Medical Assisting degree or diploma required.
Preferred:
Previous clerical experience in a medical office.
