Omaha, NE Job Details Part-time 13 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Life insurance Qualifications Spanish English Certified Medication Aide Medical assisting Productivity software Full Job Description One part-time position (20 hrs/week) | Mostly remote | Applicants must reside in the Omaha Metro area to be considered for this role | On-site location is Livestock Exchange Campus (LSX 30th & L) Job Duties The Triage Medical Assistant, under the direction of a provider, works under the general supervision of the Triage Nurse Manager as part of the medical team. The Triage Medical Assistant is responsible for abiding by the policies and procedures of the OneWorld Community Health Centers while performing the clinical and clerical duties necessary to meet the goal of providing primary healthcare. They work primarily from home, but report to work in the clinic on a rotating basis. Facilitates communication between the patient and the clinic. Contacts and confirms patient appointments before the scheduled appointment. Schedules appointments as needed. Collects patient symptoms over the phone, documents chief complaint, and consults with nurse/provider as appropriate. Relays patient requests and questions to the provider. Per provider instructions and clinic policies, performs medication refills, gives directives to patients, and gives diagnostic results to patients. Works with interdisciplinary teams to determine appropriate follow-up for triaged patients. Assists patients with forms and paperwork. Obtains and enters medical records. Records charges in the electronic health record as needed. The tasks outlined above are intended to provide a general overview of the role and are not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or job functions. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support the business, and responsibilities may evolve to meet the changing needs of the organization. High school diploma or equivalent required, OR must be actively pursuing a high school diploma/GED. Medical Assistant diploma required; current AAMA certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment. Certified Medication Aide required within the first three months of employment. Phlebotomy Certificate preferred. Prior healthcare experience preferred. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred. Proficiency in English and Spanish required. Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to OneWorld patients and staff. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Flexibility with changing work schedules required. Position includes remote work from home, which requires a home computer, phone, and high-speed internet access.
