  • Full-time Pediatric Medical Assistant Float We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team 5 days per week to cover shifts for Medical Assistants who are on vacation or out sick.
Duties :
Assist healthcare professionals with patient care and treatment Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature Administer preventative health screenings and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens Follow OSHA standards regarding bloodborne pathogens and practice Universal Precautions At the direction of the Physician, may be asked to complete billing information Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment Schedule appointments and manage patient records Provide patient education and instructions for at-home care Complete tasks delegated by other care team members (nurse, physician, case manager, etc.) Protect the confidentiality of patient information by preventing release, both verbally and in writing Cross train to be able to check patients in, check insurance eligibility, collect co-pays (will train)
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a medical assistant program or certification Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures Proficiency in electronic health record systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
