Medical Assistant Ability Beyond Barriers Loris Adult Development Center - Loris, SC $18.18 per hour Full-Time | non-exempt Join a Mission-Driven Team Ability Beyond Barriers is seeking a compassionate and organized Medical Assistant to join our team at the Loris Adult Development Center . This position provides critical healthcare support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and head and spinal cord injuries, helping individuals live healthier, more independent lives while receiving person-centered services. Position Summary Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Medical Assistant assists with healthcare coordination, health monitoring, medication support, documentation, and appointment management. This position is an integral part of our interdisciplinary team and helps ensure quality healthcare services for the individuals we support. Responsibilities Include Coordinating medical, dental, behavioral health, and specialist appointments. Recording vital signs, weights, and other health-related observations. Maintaining accurate electronic health records and documentation. Obtaining and processing physician orders and follow-up instructions. Assisting with medication administration and documentation in accordance with
BHDD-OIDD
Medication Technician certification requirements and nurse delegation. Monitoring for medication side effects and reporting concerns promptly. Maintaining medical supplies and assisting with pharmacy pickups. Promoting individual rights, dignity, informed choice, and self-advocacy. Following infection control, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license.
BHDD-OIDD
Medication Technician Certification. Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
