We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Front Desk / Medical Assistant to join our growing practice. Position Summary The Front Desk / Medical Assistant serves an essential role in both the clinical and administrative operations of our practice. This position is responsible for assisting providers with direct patient care while also coordinating referrals, insurance authorizations, and front office responsibilities to ensure patients receive timely, efficient care. Medical Assistant Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs Document medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Assist providers during patient visits and procedures Perform patient triage and communicate urgent concerns appropriately Administer medications and injections as directed Perform venipuncture and specimen collection Complete in-office laboratory testing and specimen processing Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and clinic safety standards Front Desk & Care Coordination Responsibilities This position will spend a significant portion of the day assisting with administrative patient care coordination, including: UnitedHealthcare referrals Prior authorization submissions and follow-up Referral coordination and specialist scheduling Medication adherence and medication non-adherence outreach Tracking referral status to ensure completion of patient care plans Communicating with insurance companies, pharmacies, specialists, and patients Scheduling follow-up appointments Answering incoming phone calls and assisting patients with questions Greeting and checking patients in and out Collecting copays and verifying insurance information Assisting with additional front office duties as needed Qualifications Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required LPN or RN applicants are welcome to apply Previous experience in primary care, family practice, or outpatient medicine preferred Experience with referrals, prior authorizations, and insurance coordination preferred Strong computer and EMR skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Phlebotomy experience preferred or willingness to learn our office procedures Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Monday-Friday schedule or optional four 10-hour workday schedule Family-owned, privately operated medical practice Supportive team environment where every employee is valued Ongoing training and professional development Opportunity to grow within the practice Stable outpatient setting focused on teamwork, patient care, and work-life balance Benefits 401(k) with employer matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off
