Position Summary As a Patient Service Specialist / Certified Medical Assistant , you'll be a vital part of our care team, supporting both administrative and clinical functions to ensure a seamless experience for the residents we serve. Working closely with primary care providers, you'll help manage day-to-day patient interactions and clinical support needs—always striving to exceed expectations and deliver quality care in line with state guidelines and the CMA scope of practice.
Essential Functions Essential Functions:
Collect and organize labs, orders that need signatures, dietary recommendations, pharmacy recommendations, nursing concerns, etc. for NP to review. Obtain and assist in acquiring vital signs, pulling Medication Administration Record (MAR), and orders. Obtain necessary medical records from hospital systems and the facility EMR. Prepare the medical record in the UHP EMR Obtain chief complaints and vital signs. Complete demographic information and chronic conditions on chart. File and maintain necessary documents. Other duties as assigned Care Coordination Ensure lab and diagnostic test results are tracked and reported to providers Prepare patient charts for upcoming visits by reviewing and updating records Assist with phone triage using approved protocols to gather symptoms and relay concerns appropriately General Expectations Follow infection control and safety protocols Maintain a clean and organized workspace Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Education:
High School Degree or GED Licensure/Certification:
Active Medical Assisting Certification (required) Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire)
Experience:
One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required) Two years of clerical experience in a physician's office (preferred, not required)
Skills & Abilities:
