Responsibilities Room 50-70 patients per day in a fast-paced oncology clinic setting. Record patient vital signs, including manual blood pressure, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes accurately and promptly. Prepare exam and treatment rooms before each patient visit, ensuring rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies. Provide professional and empathetic customer service to patients and their families throughout their visit. Perform phlebotomy as needed, following clinical protocols and safety standards. Carry out administrative tasks related to patient flow and documentation, as required to support clinic operations. Collaborate with clinic staff as a general front-end Medical Assistant rather than being tied to a single provider, flexing to support where needed. Follow clinic policies, procedures, and guidelines to support a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant. Current Medical Assistant certification. Proficiency in rooming patients in a high-volume environment, including handling 50-70 patients per day. Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs, including manual blood pressure, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Experience working in an oncology or similarly fast-paced clinical setting. Strong medical assisting skills in both clinical and basic administrative tasks. Ability to use electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to outpatient clinical care. Phlebotomy skills and experience performing blood draws in a clinical environment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and clinical staff. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual language skills are a strong plus. Previous experience in oncology is highly beneficial. Strong organizational skills to manage a high patient volume and maintain well-stocked exam and treatment rooms. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Solid administrative skills to support documentation, scheduling, and patient flow as needed. Comfort working as a flexible, front-end Medical Assistant supporting multiple providers rather than being assigned to a single provider. Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and supporting a positive clinic culture. Work Environment This position is based in an outpatient oncology clinic that operates Monday through Friday, with hours generally from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or until the last patient is seen. There are no weekend shifts. The role functions as a general front-end Medical Assistant, rooming patients and obtaining vitals for various providers rather than being dedicated to one provider. The clinic uses electronic medical record and electronic health record systems, and staff regularly work with oncology patients in a fast-paced setting that requires efficiency and compassion. The schedule includes working at one clinic location on Mondays and Fridays and a nearby clinic location on Tuesdays through Thursdays, with access to reimbursement if asked to travel outside the assigned clinics. The culture emphasizes long-term career opportunities, strong teamwork, and an open-door environment, with team-building activities and holiday celebrations.
