Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Job Title:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Lab & Patient Care (Functional Medicine Clinic) We are a fast-paced, patient-centered functional medicine clinic seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team. This role is heavily focused on lab work while supporting a holistic approach to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture for routine labs and specialty functional medicine test kits (e.g., Labcorp / Quest panels, specialty micronutrient panels, PRP blood-draws) Properly prepare, label, process, and ship specimens according to specific lab protocols Administer injections (vitamins, IM shots) as directed Accurately document patient information using EMR systems Schedule lab appointments and clearly explain lab instructions and prep protocols to patients Handle clinical tasks assigned by providers, including communicating lab-related information and follow-ups to patients Respond to patient portal messages related to labs, providing clear and timely communication Handout, order and explain patient lab kits Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment Collaborate with the clinical team while also working independently with confidence Be open to assisting with vital signs and uploading results as needed
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required Strong phlebotomy skills Comfortable handling specialty kits with detailed instructions Experience administering injections Proficient with EMR charting and documentation Excellent communication skills, especially when educating patients Highly organized with strong attention to detail
