Harbor Health Float PRN Certified Medical Assistant Dallas, TX | PRN / As-Needed
POSITION OVERVIEW
Harbor Health is seeking a Float PRN Certified Medical Assistant to support our Dallas clinical operations on an as-needed basis. In this flexible role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support across our healthcare teams, ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional member experiences. This position is ideal for a healthcare professional who thrives in varied environments and wants to make a meaningful impact while maintaining schedule flexibility. As part of our payvider model — integrating care delivery with health insurance — you will contribute to transforming healthcare by delivering member-centered care in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet members and escort them to exam rooms while creating a welcoming experience Record vital signs, chief complaints, and update member medical histories accurately Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available Assist providers during examinations and procedures as directed Administer medications and immunizations per provider orders and organizational protocols Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for laboratory testing Perform point-of-care testing including blood glucose monitoring, rapid strep tests, and urinalysis Process laboratory specimens and coordinate lab orders Prepare and maintain medical supplies, instruments, and equipment Document all clinical activities accurately in the electronic health record system Schedule follow-up appointments and communicate care instructions to members Maintain exam room cleanliness and ensure compliance with infection control standards Support clinic workflow and respond to urgent needs across the facility Collaborate with clinical team members to optimize member care delivery Maintain member confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) Current BLS/CPR Certification 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting Demonstrated phlebotomy experience with proficiency in venipuncture techniques Proficiency with electronic health record systems Strong clinical skills including vital signs, injections, and phlebotomy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and adapt to varying clinic needs across multiple locations Flexibility to work different shifts and locations as needed Professional demeanor and commitment to member-centered care
Preferred:
Experience in primary care or multi-specialty clinic settings Bilingual in English/Spanish Familiarity with value-based care or integrated healthcare delivery models Experience working in fast-paced or startup healthcare environments
