Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work in diverse clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as emergency medicine, Geriatrics, and ICU. The ideal candidate will possess strong patient care skills, comprehensive medical knowledge, and proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or trauma centers is highly valued. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient service and supporting medical staff across various departments. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs Assist with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings Administer medications and injections following proper protocols Support physicians with clinical tasks such as ICD coding, anatomy and physiology documentation, and basic X-ray procedures Manage EHR systems efficiently for accurate record-keeping and documentation of patient encounters Conduct basic life support (BLS) when necessary during emergency situations Support hospital medicine teams, including Level I and Level II trauma centers, PICU, and surgical units such as OR experience Assist with patient education on medication administration, treatment plans, and health maintenance Ensure compliance with safety standards in emergency medicine environments and hospital settings Provide excellent patient service by addressing concerns with professionalism and compassion Experience Prior experience working in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency departments is preferred Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions Knowledge of ICD coding, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols Experience working in inpatient units such as Geriatrics, Medical-Surgical wards, PICU, or Level I Trauma Centers is advantageous Familiarity with X-ray procedures and hospital experience in Level II trauma centers is a plus Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required This position offers an engaging environment where your clinical skills can make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.
