In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care across various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, and specialized departments such as dermatology, geriatrics, and emergency medicine. Your expertise in intravenous therapy will be instrumental in delivering timely treatments and supporting physicians in delivering high-quality healthcare. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes and overall clinic efficiency. Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by taking accurate vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit Administer intravenous (IV) therapies, including insertion of IV lines, medication administration, and fluid management with precision and adherence to safety protocols Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as wound care, X-ray positioning, specimen collection, and basic life support during emergencies Manage patient intake processes efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information and medical history Support patient service initiatives by providing clear instructions, answering questions, and fostering a welcoming environment for diverse patient populations Maintain clinical supplies and equipment, including IV supplies, medications, and sterilization of instruments to ensure readiness for daily operations Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, or Level I/II trauma centers to deliver seamless patient care across various specialties Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with specialized IV therapy skills in clinical settings such as hospital medicine or urgent care Must have expertise in IV starts. Preference with applicants who are experiences with eClinical Works EHR. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medication administration protocols Hands-on experience with EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient record management Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I or Level II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or OR (Operating Room) settings is highly desirable Strong understanding of outpatient procedures and inpatient care processes across internal medicine or medical-surgical units Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations while maintaining professionalism and empathy Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through dedicated care and technical expertise.
