Rise Health is a platform acquisition company re-engineering the current primary care fee-for-service paradigm. We deliver an integrated, value-based care clinical program centered around partnership with pre-existing primary care practices. We transition them to our proprietary tech and data-driven platform to support profitable risk management in the value-based environment. We are backed by private equity sponsors and led by a management team with deep experience in healthcare investing. Job Summary The Medical Assistant (MA) is a vital member of the healthcare team responsible for providing clinical and administrative support in a medical setting. The MA works under the direction of licensed healthcare providers to ensure efficient and effective patient care and smooth office operations. Clinical Duties Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, weight, and medical history Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries Administer medications and immunizations as directed Perform basic laboratory testing and phlebotomy procedures Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment Maintain examination rooms, clinical supplies, and medical equipment Administrative Duties Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system Document patient information, provider notes, and updates in the EHR in a timely and accurate manner Manage and coordinate provider schedules to support efficient clinic workflow and timely patient care Conduct patient follow-up regarding care plans, test results, referrals, and provider instructions Process referrals and coordinate with specialty providers to ensure continuity of patient care Assist with obtaining prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and diagnostic testing as required Monitor and respond to patient messages through the EHR system and patient portal Prepare patient charts and ensure all required documentation, laboratory results, imaging, and reports are available for provider review prior to appointments Maintain organized electronic patient files, including scanning and uploading medical documents into the EHR Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and external healthcare facilities to support patient care coordination Ensure all patient information and documentation are handled in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policiesRequirements:
High school diploma or GED required Completion of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) required Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required Previous clinical experience preferred, but not required Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Ability to maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulationsSimilar jobs in El Paso, TX
