Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, height, weight) Document patient history and symptoms in the electronic health record (EHR) Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures Perform basic clinical procedures (injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care), if trained Prepare and clean exam rooms; sterilize medical instruments Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines Administrative Duties Greet and check in patients; verify demographic and insurance information Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars Answer phones and route messages appropriately Process referrals and prior authorizations Handle medical records, forms, and documentation Assist with billing and coding support (as needed) Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (or equivalent experience) Basic knowledge of medical terminology Ability to use EHR systems and standard office software Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
