  • Obtains, evaluates, and records patient history in medical file.
Obtains and measures vital signs and records information on patients' charts. Administer vaccines, medications, and routine pediatric procedures per protocol. Screens patients according to NTACHC protocols (i.e. obtaining vital signs, height, weight, vision/hearing testing). Assists in the examination of patients under the direction of a provider. Complete requests for follow-up, and manage tasks in NextGen by the end of your work week. Schedule follow up appointments at the time of the visit. Performs accurate charting in medical record in accordance with NTACHC policies and procedures. Provide assistance to clinical staff and providers as needed. Maintain exam room and work areas (i.e. keeping well-stocked, orderly, and clean, to include disinfecting exam tables, chairs, and counters between patients with disinfecting wipes as per infection control policy.) Maintain strict infection control (i.e., sterilizing instruments, performing procedures, needle disposal, etc.). Able to accurately make/cancel/reschedule appointments in the computer appointment system. Able to follow-up on appointment to determine patient compliance and contact patients to reschedule (no-show policy). Keep up to date and comply with all emails, intranet updates, policies/procedural updates and retraining as required. Understand all emergency protocols and respond accordingly. Other duties as assigned. Serve as the communication liaison between patient and providers. Capable of documenting patient communication and clinical treatment accurately and appropriately. Recognize and respond effectively to verbal, nonverbal, and written communication. Ability to follow established policies and procedures dealing with health care. Comply with established risk management and safety procedures. Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team. Must respect the confidential nature of medical information and comply with HIPAA laws. Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Able to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations. Capable of using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Able to read and interpret documents such as charts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Behave in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance. Must be a team player and always keep patients as the number one priority. Emotional and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Strength sufficient to lift some patients, move heavy equipment on wheels (up to approximately 100 lbs.), and to move patients in wheelchairs and stretchers. Consent to scheduled and random drug screen testing as required by NTACHC. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Current Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers from one of the following organizations is required. o American Heart Association o American Red Cross Medical Assistant Certificate from one of the following organizations required. o CMA

  • National Health Career Association (NHA) o NRCMA through National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP) o NCMA
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred Maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance as traveling to different clinic locations will be required. Job Summary Performs duties under the direction of the Clinical Manager to assist the providers with rooming patients and completing the intake process of the clinical visit. This position also performs a wide variety of patient care activities such as maintaining the clinical record for documentation, administering medications, giving injections, and taking vital signs. Position Goal Provide direct patient care with the utmost customer service, compassion, and integrity to patients/clients in a clinical setting.
