Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Foreign Medical Graduate Medical Assistant who is bilingual in English and Spanish to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical assisting, with experience in various clinical settings, including dermatology, hospital medicine, and urgent care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support patient care through efficient medical administrative support and clinical procedures, ensuring a seamless healthcare experience for our diverse patient population. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Assist physicians with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Support patient care by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and managing medical documentation with precision. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers in both English and Spanish to ensure clear understanding of medical instructions and procedures. Manage medical records efficiently, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and accurate ICD coding for diagnoses. Assist with hospital or inpatient procedures when necessary, including supporting physicians during surgeries or trauma center activities. Maintain a professional and welcoming environment by providing excellent patient service and addressing patient inquiries promptly. Qualifications Graduation from a recognized medical school as a foreign medical graduate with valid certification or licensing where applicable. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Prior experience in medical office settings, including dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding standards. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and electronic medical records (EMR/EMR systems) management. Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform medical assisting duties accurately while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
