Certified Aesthetic Medical Assistant Glo & Spa-rkle Aesthetics and MedSpa Lubbock, TX Job Details Full-time $16 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Free parking On-the-job training Employee discount Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Medical scheduling Administrative experience High school diploma or GED Medical administrative support Attention to detail Full Job Description An aesthetic medical assistant WITH experience working with doctors and nurses in cosmetic, plastic surgery or dermatology practice by preparing patients for procedures, assisting with non-surgical cosmetic treatments, and handling administrative tasks like scheduling and record management. Key duties include patient education on treatments and aftercare, assisting with EMR documentations, assisting providers with aesthetic procedures, maintaining sterile and stocked exam rooms, and ensuring overall patient comfort and safety during procedures such as laser therapy and Botox. While Texas does not require medical assistant licensure, prior certification and completion of accredited medical assistant training program is needed for this specialized role.
Responsibilities:
Patient Consultation and Care:
Greeting patients, taking pre-treatment photos, monitoring patient comfort, and relaying information to the provider. Obtaining pre-treatment imaging and scanning including comprehensive skin analysis, 3D body scanning and Scalp and Hair analysis imaging. •
Treatment Assistance:
Setting up rooms, getting equipment ready and preparing injectables for treatments for all providers. Helping with cleaning up rooms after treatments to get them ready for subsequent treatments. Preparing patients for treatments including but not limited to laser therapy, microneedling, facials, chemical peels, body contouring and neurotoxin injections. •
Administrative Tasks:
Managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and assisting the advanced aesthetic providers with documenting patients notes and treatment details in the electronic health record (EMR) system. •
Education:
Providing clear instructions on pre- and post-treatment care and recommended skincare regimens. •
Environment Maintenance:
Ensuring exam rooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary supplies. Qualifications and Skills •
Foundation:
A high school diploma or GED. •
Education:
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program. •
Certification:
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential is required. •
Aesthetic Knowledge and Experience:
Familiarity with various cosmetic procedures, skincare, and aesthetic equipment like lasers and microdermabrasion devices. MUST have experience working with an aesthetic provider/injector, dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Experience working with other doctors and medical providers will be considered. A minimum of 6 months experience working in any of these areas is required. •
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with patient scheduling software and electronic health records (EHRs). •
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a professional, empathetic bedside manner to ensure a positive patient experience. Must be outgoing and easy to connect with people. •
Specialization:
Role will involve a general aesthetic medical assistant. •
Continuing Education:
The rapidly evolving field of aesthetics requires ongoing learning to stay updated on new techniques and technologies.
