Job Description
Overview Join our friendly, fast-paced pediatric team as a Cross-Trained Medical Assistant, where your versatile skills will make a real difference in the care of children and families every day. This role blends hands-on clinical work with front-office responsibilities, so you'll move seamlessly between the exam room and the front desk. Responsibilities Clinical Administer vaccines and injections to pediatric patients following current schedules, dosing guidelines, and safety protocols. Perform allergy testing (skin prick/scratch testing) and assist with allergy immunotherapy, monitoring patients for reactions. Room patients and collect vital signs, growth measurements, and medical histories, documenting accurately in the EHR. Support providers during exams and procedures, preparing rooms and instruments and comforting young patients. Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient charts, immunization records, and documentation in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards. Follow infection control, cleaning, and stocking procedures to keep clinical areas ready and safe. Front Desk / Administrative Check patients in and out, verifying demographics and updating records as needed. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, collect copays, and help patients understand coverage. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments, and manage the daily provider schedule. Answer phones, respond to patient questions, and route messages to the appropriate staff. Process referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records requests. Handle the front-office flow to keep wait times low and the patient experience positive. Qualifications Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, ideally in a pediatric or primary care setting. Comfortable and confident administering vaccines/injections and performing allergy testing. Experience with phlebotomy and specimen collection. Front-desk experience including check-in/check-out, scheduling, and insurance verification. Proficiency with
