- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider, assist in patient procedures as needed.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and manage laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide educational material to patients, emphasizing the importance of follow-ups.
- Utilize basic knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support clinical assessments and description of symptoms.
- Uphold the highest standards of patient service, including answering phone calls, referring patients to various specialties, and handling patient concerns when applicable. Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is required, experience in a pediatric clinic is not required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and relevant systems.
- Proficiency in performing clinical tasks including taking vital signs, administering injections, and assisting the team with patient tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members, with ability to work well in a small team setting.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required
