Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float About Us We are a growing psychiatric and medical practice with locations in Plano, Fort Worth, and Greenville. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment for our staff. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float who is adaptable, dependable, organized, and eager to support multiple providers and clinical operations based on the needs of the practice. Position Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float is a flexible support role designed to assist with coverage needs across our psychiatric and medical clinics. Daily assignments may vary based on provider schedules, staffing, PTO, call-outs, and overall clinic needs. Depending on the day, the CMA Float may be assigned to support a psychiatric provider, medical provider, prescribing clinic, or other clinical and administrative workflows. This may include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, administering injections, assisting with medication-management workflows, completing prior authorizations, processing refill requests, providing scribing support, assisting with patient communication, and supporting overall clinic operations The CMA Float should be comfortable with a changing day-to-day schedule and able to transition between providers, specialties, responsibilities, and clinic locations as needed. Travel between our Plano, Fort Worth, and Greenville locations may be required when coverage is needed but is not necessarily required on a daily basis. Occasional schedule adjustments, including staying beyond the regularly scheduled shift, may also be necessary to ensure appropriate patient and provider coverage. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, dependable, and committed to delivering excellent patient care while maintaining flexibility and a team-first attitude. Essential Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs Support psychiatric medication-management clinics Assist medical providers with patient care and clinical workflows Provide coverage for psychiatric, medical, and prescribing providers as assigned Administer psychiatric and medical injections Collect and document urine drug screens (UDS) according to clinic protocols Assist with controlled-substance monitoring workflows Perform chart preparation prior to appointments Provide real-time scribing support during provider visits when assigned Process medication refill requests Complete prior authorizations and related documentation Triage patient calls and portal messages Assist with patient follow-up and care coordination Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Support multiple providers, departments, and clinic teams as assigned Provide coverage for staff absences, PTO, call-outs, and other staffing needs Provide coverage at our Plano, Fort Worth, or Greenville location when needed Adapt to changing schedules, provider assignments, responsibilities, and clinic coverage needs Occasionally adjust work hours or stay beyond the regularly scheduled shift when necessary for patient or provider coverage Assist with additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred Experience with injections, prior authorizations, medication refills, and patient triage preferred Psychiatric, primary care, family practice, internal medicine, or specialty clinic experience preferred Scribing experience is a plus Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to adapt quickly to different providers, workflows, and clinical settings Dependable and able to adjust to changing coverage needs Reliable transportation required Ability and willingness to provide coverage at another clinic location when needed Ability to accommodate occasional schedule adjustments based on clinic coverage needs What You'll Gain Exposure to both psychiatric and medical clinical settings Experience working with multiple providers and specialties Opportunities to develop a broad range of clinical and administrative skills A collaborative team environment Opportunities for continued learning and professional growth Additional Information Responsibilities and assignments may vary from day to day. The CMA Float may support psychiatric or medical providers, assist with prescribing and medication-management workflows, provide coverage for staff absences or PTO, work at another clinic location when coverage is needed, and occasionally adjust work hours to meet patient, provider, or clinic coverage needs. Travel between locations is based on coverage needs and should not be interpreted as daily travel between all clinic locations. Flexibility, dependability, adaptability, professionalism, and a team-first approach are essential for success in this role.
