About us: FreedomChoice Health LLC. an independent primary care clinic dedicated to the health care needs of infants, children, teens, adults, and newly offering psychological care in the Waller area. As part of our goal to build a community of healthy patients, FreedomChoice Health LLC. provides trusted, high-quality medical services for patients who otherwise would seek care from emergency centers or possibly go without care or treatment due to low family incomes and/or lack of health insurance. We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, bilingual Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team, to learn more about our clinic you can contact us by calling (936) 372-3003. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures Perform intake procedures, including taking vital signs and medical history Administer medications as directed by physicians Prepare patients for diagnostic tests Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Ensure compliance with medical terminology and coding (ICD coding) Completes treatments as directed by provider and within scope of practice Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance patient service Supports patients/families in self- management of their health through assisting with education Assesses patient's eligibility for referral by verifying coverage with payer prior to initiating referral Maintains certification by fulfilling continuing education (CE) requirements as directed by certification agency Skills Proficient in basic life support techniques Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care Perform phlebotomies and 12-lead EKGs without direct supervision Experience in clinic settings, geriatrics, PICU, OR, or urgent care is preferred Strong understanding of medical terminology for effective communication within the healthcare team Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and staff

$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
