Intake Medical Assistant

Based in Waxahachie, TX, our office offers a supportive, collaborative, and non-clinical environment where we partner closely with Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs) to coordinate exceptional care experiences. We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Intake Department . In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care. You will work closely with referral sources to review incoming patient requests, determine eligibility, and support the onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities:

Communicate with referral sources to accept or deny patient referrals Verify insurance eligibility and confirm in-network status Ensure patients reside within our designated service area Provide exceptional customer service while guiding patients through the intake process This is a highly patient care and customer service-focused role , ideal for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, communication-driven environment. Key Success Factors:

Comfortable speaking with patients and referral sources by phone throughout the day Proficient in computer systems and related software applications Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Requirements:

Minimum of 1+ year of medical office intake experience Minimum of 1+ year of experience with Availity Medical Assistant Certification (required)

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
