Job Description

We are looking for a Part Time Medical Assistant for our highly skilled and fast-paced General Surgeons office in St. George, Utah.
Hours:
Monday
  • Thursday 8:30am-4:00pm with a 1 hour lunch Can be flexible.
Prerequisites:
Phone and in-person etiquette Positive personality Well organized Ability to make proactive autonomous decisions Ability to adapt, multi-task and support co-workers to ensure a cohesive patient experience Experience utilizing various software (ex: Excel, Word, Electronic Medical Records, etc.) Job Duties (include but not limited to): Promptly and professionally call patients from the waiting room to take vitals, follow up on his/her health history, and help them get prepared in the exam room to see the doctor Sanitize and stock exam rooms Answer and return calls to patients with prescription, procedure, or medical condition questions in a timely manner Assist doctors with in-office procedures (preparation and clean up) Transcribe doctor's notes in the exam room while the doctor examines and communicates with the patients Complete required steps of meaningful use measures for each patient visit Organize patient results into electronic charts Track and report doctor wait times and availability while in office Sterilize and organize medical instruments Preferences (preferred but not required): Bilingual (English and Spanish) Previous experience working in a medical practice, especially as a medical assistant
