Fluency in Spanish is required for this role , as you will regularly communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and play a key role in ensuring clear, compassionate care.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will work closely with physicians and clinical support staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a highly flexible, adaptable individual who can manage changing priorities and support clinic needs as they arise, including working with one provider or multiple. Responsibilities include telephone triage, obtaining insurance authorizations, recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.), administering immunizations, performing phlebotomy, maintaining exam rooms, and managing documentation and filing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required Medical Assistant Certification preferred Experience in Pediatrics or Family Medicine preferred 1-2 years of medical office experience preferred Fluent in Spanish (required) with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate courteously and effectively Highly dependable and adaptable, with the flexibility to effectively support varying clinic demands, including assisting a single provider or multiple providers as needed. Strong multitasking and organizational skills Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others and take on additional responsibilities as needed Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with physicians, staff, and patients
Essential Functions and Duties:
Accurately collect and update patient demographic information Assist with prior authorizations for medications and procedures Prepare patients for examinations and provide providers with relevant clinical information (vital signs, medications, allergies, lab results) Communicate with patients regarding scheduling and care-related needs in both English and Spanish Adapt to changing clinic needs and support team members as needed Perform additional duties as assigned
