Position Summary Optimum Health is seeking a professional, dependable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing family medicine practice. This role is ideal for someone who is clinically skilled, highly organized, warm with patients, and comfortable supporting both clinical and administrative workflows in a high-touch medical setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers and the care team to deliver an excellent patient experience from check-in through follow-up. The right candidate will bring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and a service-oriented mindset. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and reason for visit. Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing. Assist providers during patient visits and in-office procedures. Administer vaccines and injections as directed by the provider. Perform EKGs and other diagnostic testing as needed. Accurately document patient information in the EHR. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms. Educate patients on medications, treatments, follow-up instructions, and healthy lifestyle choices under provider direction. Respond to patient calls, messages, refill requests, and clinical questions within scope and under provider guidance. Assist with scheduling, insurance-related workflows, prior authorizations, and referrals as needed. Help maintain a smooth daily patient flow and communicate proactively with providers and team members. Participate in staff meetings, training, workflow improvement, and quality initiatives. Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and practice policies always.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required. Experience with vitals, patient intake, EHR documentation, injections, vaccines, and EKGs required. Phlebotomy experience is a plus. Experience in primary care/Internal medicine is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a clinical environment. Professional, dependable, compassionate, and team oriented.
