Medical Assistant Certified (Neurosurgery)

Responsible for rooming patients and prepare them for examination Takes patients vital signs which include blood pressure, height, weight and documents in EMR Updates patient medical record including medications, allergies, past medical & surgical history Preps procedure room for minor procedure and assist with those procedures as needed. Prepares exam rooms for provider dependent on appointment type. Cleans exam room and beds after each appointment and restocks medical supplies daily. Assist physician and Acute Care Providers with patient examinations. Draws blood, perform

EKG, SWAB

test and any additional clinical test within clinic. Manages Physician orders by submitting to appropriate departments such as imagining, labs, scheduling surgeries, of referral to specialist. Confirm all orders are completed and that results have been returned. Obtain Prior Authorizations as needed. Able to check in patients, register patients, verify insurance, scan documents in patient charts, answer phones, return phone calls, and schedule appointments. Presents strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills High School or better in Other. Technical/other training or better in Medical Assisting.
