Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately. Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient visits, procedures, or treatments. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) to support patient care across various specialties including emergency medicine and inpatient units. Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding, medical records management, and detailed note-taking in EMR/EHR systems. Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative support duties related to patient service and clinic management. Maintain knowledge of pharmacology principles relevant to medication administration and patient safety protocols. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations by adhering to safety standards in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU settings. Experience Prior experience in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care centers, or specialty areas such as dermatology or geriatrics is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management. Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, vital signs collection, medication administration, and basic life support certification (BLS). Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and pharmacology to accurately document patient encounters. Experience working in inpatient settings like ICU or trauma centers is a plus; familiarity with hospital procedures enhances your ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across outpatient clinics or hospital units. Previous roles involving medical assisting duties in outpatient or inpatient settings will provide a solid foundation for success in this position.
