Location :
Norfolk, VA Compensation:
$19/hour or $85 per day, whichever is greater. About Us We are a specialized medical practice focused exclusively on conducting disability medical evaluations. Our team provides objective, comprehensive assessments that support disability determinations. Unlike traditional healthcare settings, our practice does not involve patient treatment, long-term care or clinical follow-ups. Position Overview We are seeking a FT Medical Assistant to support our providers in performing disability evaluations. The role is ideal for professionals looking for a flexible medical environment without the typical demands of a clinical practice. Office operating hours are Monday-Friday (7:30am-5:00pm). Our offices are not opened nights or weekends. Key Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary documentation and equipment are ready for evaluation exams. Check in patients upon arrival and verify information. Take basic vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, etc.) Assist providers as needed with exams. Check out patients after evaluations, ensuring all documentation is completed. Maintain the exam room - cleaning between patients and restocking supplies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies. Required Qualifications Prior experience as a medical administrative support, patient intake, medical assisting or similar healthcare role. Ability to take basic vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, etc.) Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to follow standardized protocols and maintain accurate documentation. Reliable transportation to the assigned location. Professionalism, dependability and willingness to learn. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in disability exams, intake, occupational health, administrative assisting or similar settings. Medical Assistant training or certification (not required, but a plus).
