Staunton, VA We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our dermatology and Mohs surgery team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in dermatology, surgical assisting, or a similar clinical setting and be comfortable working closely with a Mohs surgeon. Responsibilities Assist the Mohs surgeon during surgical procedures. Provide hands-on surgical assistance and maintain a sterile field. Prepare surgical rooms, instruments, and supplies before procedures. Prepare patients for Mohs surgery and assist with pre- and post-operative care. Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation. Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative instructions. Prepare, label, and properly handle tissue specimens according to office protocols. Assist with hemostasis, suturing, and other surgical needs as directed by the physician. Clean, disinfect, and maintain surgical instruments and treatment rooms. Monitor patients throughout their visit and communicate any concerns to the clinical team. Document patient information and procedures accurately in the medical record. Maintain infection-control and safety standards. Provide compassionate and professional patient care. Help maintain efficient patient flow in a busy Mohs surgery practice. Requirements Previous Medical Assistant experience required. Dermatology or Mohs surgery experience strongly preferred. Experience with surgical assisting or outpatient procedures preferred. Knowledge of sterile technique and infection-control practices. Comfortable working in a surgical environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and patient-care skills. Ability to work effectively with a physician and clinical team. Dependable, professional, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Preferred Experience 1-2+ years of dermatology or Mohs experience preferred. Previous experience assisting with dermatologic surgery. Familiarity with surgical instruments and specimen handling. Experience with wound care and post-operative patient education. Experience working directly with a Mohs surgeon. Compensation:
