Medical Assistant Columbia Basin Pediatrics - Richland, WA Job Type Full-time Pay Competitive pay based on experience. About Us Columbia Basin Pediatrics is a busy, patient-focused pediatric primary care clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents. We are seeking a reliable, motivated Medical Assistant who enjoys working with children and families in a fast-paced clinical environment. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers and the clinical team to deliver exceptional patient care. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to multitask while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs. Document patient history and update medical records. Assist providers during examinations and procedures. Administer vaccines and medications as directed by providers and within scope of practice. Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and supplies. Perform point-of-care testing and collect laboratory specimens. Provide patient and parent education as instructed by providers. Answer clinical phone calls and respond to patient messages. Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Follow infection control and HIPAA guidelines. Perform other clinical duties as assigned. Qualifications Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) preferred; eligible candidates may be considered depending on experience and state requirements. Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Previous pediatric or primary care experience preferred but not required. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
